In January of 2016 we decided to take a quick get away using a free timeshare week that was expiring. It was a dart on the map selection were we could get reasonable flights in the time frame we had open.
Our timeshare was on the far north end of town a 20 minute ride by Pulmonias (golf carts) that run at about 20 mph with no springs – interesting on potholed roads. We found great restaurants and a quaint old town but for us a week was enough – been there done it – won’t be going back. Here’s what the guide books say….
Mazatlán is a Mexican resort town along the Pacific shoreline in the state of Sinaloa. Sandy beaches line its 21km-long malecón (boardwalk), and its harbor is renowned for big-game fishing. In its historic center, 19th-century landmarks include the performance hall Teatro Ángela Peralta and the towering Immaculate Conception basilica. The modern district of Zona Dorada is known for its nightlife and high-rise hotels.

Went toMazatan in the late 70s when it was a Sleepy little town with long stretches of beach with few people in sight. Returned in 2008 and didn’t recognize the place
We are back in Illinois as of Sunday and expecting high winds and torrential rain today. Ah, the Midwest
