Continuing our drive to York through the Cotswolds. Taking the “B” routes (maybe 1 and a half lanes wide) through many small villages, hills with stone fences housing cows and many sheep and field after field of wheat.

Pete, are you driving? I was privileged NOT to drive when the Jersey Shorehouse Crew went to Scotland. I did, however, drive on St John’s this past March. Crossing over the mountains from one side of the island to the other on “the wrong side of the road” was harrowing for me ( must have been for the three passengers in my car also since I only heard a large “Gasp!” from time to time…
Enjoy the scenery and stay on the correct side of the road!

Fortunately we are here with friends from Florida and Caroline was born and grew up in UK – she is doing all the driving – I’m in the back seat with my eyes and mouth closed.

The photos of the beautiful old structures are classic! I feel like you have gone back in time.
I am curious – is there modern architecture and newer neighborhoods in the little villages you drive through or mainly very historic structures?
I drove narrow roads in Northern Scotland around Carnoustie. You are lucky to have a personal driver! (While Tim golfed)

The little villages have stayed pretty much the same – some have may have new buildings but mainly out of the centers – yes. it is very good to have an experienced local (although she has been in the US for over 25 years)
